Dante Walker…again.
Yes he’s still awesome and yes he’s the best collect…I
mean…liberator around.
So the bad boy with the killer attitude and the
insurmountable sex appeal is back, except now he’s working for a different
boss. When we last left Dante he’d
traded in his cuffed life of a Collector, for a more “angelic” life as a
Liberator and boy is he having a hard time with that.
Dante has been a soul collector for hell for quite some
time, so it only makes sense that he’s going to have issues turning good and
placing seals on souls for Heaven. He’s
still rocking the good looks and that bad boy personality, and he’s also trying
to take care of his girlfriend, Charlie.
With ex-fellow Collector Rector still on the prowl for
Charlie’s soul, Dante really has been on edge.
He’s not had a job since…well since he was sent for Charlie’s soul… and
he’s been a little antsy about what all this Liberator stuff really means. He’s only had a small reprieve where he’s
questioning all he is when he’s finally sent his next assignment. This will be his first assignment as
Liberator and he’s told that it is imperative he seals this soul for Heaven and
does his job well with this assignment; otherwise he could very well lose his
cuff and his second chance at life. No
pressure, right?
He’s also told that this assignment is in a completely
different part of the country, this meaning he has to leave Charlie at home
until he can complete his task. That
does not bode well with him...or really with her, but she wants him to be good
and to accept his new role.
Once he leaves her, the real issues of the story begin to
unfold. Aspen, his new assignment, is
hell bent on driving him insane with how much like him she really is. She could be his sister for that matter with
the bad-ass attitude she sports around.
He finds it very hard and almost impossible to find a way to seal her
soul and do the job he’s been sent to do.
After all, how would he seal a soul for Heaven, when it’s so much like
his own…and he KNOWS what his soul looks like.
Before he can get too far into his assignment, all hell
begins to break loose. With Charlie and
her best friend coming to join him during his assignment, Kraven coming back
into the mix to teach Dante some serious kick butt moves, and a test that could
ultimately make or break Dante forever…what’s an ex-demon turned Liberator to
do?
Oh…and the appearance of a well-loved character makes their
way back into our lives, much to my happiness!!
I am VERY happy to report that Dante definitely did NOT
disappoint with the second in this trilogy!
I couldn’t put the book down from beginning to end and I am anxiously
awaiting my copy of the third and final book in this trilogy! All in all, I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars
on GoodReads and will probably pick it up and read it again for how much the
story kept me on the edge of my seat.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet Dante Walker, I
very much suggest you go out and pick up the entire series! You can find his books on:
Victoria Scott has an absolutely wonderful
way of writing a novel that will both touch your heart and make you laugh out
loud in the same sentence. She will tug
at your heart strings one moment and then have you rooting for the good guy in
some crazy action packed fight scene in the next. Pick this series up, you won’t regret it!
Thanks guys for taking time out to read my review and if
you’ve read any of the Dante Walker novels, please leave your comments below
and, as always, “Spread the joy of reading!
Lives can change with the turn of a page!”
See ya! J
