Okay today’s review, is going to be a little different. I’m actually going to go ahead and review
both novels in this series as they were so incredibly good! I’d heard lots of good feedback from the
first book and of course once the second came out, I knew I had to read it. Now that I’ve finally gotten my hands on a copy
of the second book and have read it…I can give you guys my thoughts on…
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before AND P.S. I Still Love You
by Jenny Han
Well didn’t these books just take me back to those emotional
high school days! You know the
ones! Where you had a crush on that
certain guy or girl, you didn’t know how to tell them and you had that little
cringe worthy fear in the back of your mind from even wanting to talk to them.
Did any of you have a journal back in those days? I know I did!
Writing felt like the only way I could express my emotions in such
moments without having to publicly embarrass myself. Now… what if those same journal entries, or
even letters that you may have written to those crushes…were mailed out months
or even years later?
Okay give yourself over to your teenage brain and let that
thought absorb. Freaking out yet?
That’s exactly what happened to our main character, Lara
Jean. All those crushes she had from
grade school on? It seems the only way
she could rid herself of the feelings she had, was to write letters to each
crush explaining how she felt and detailing each and every moment they made her
feel that way. She then puts each letter
into a special place, never to be seen…or mailed. That is until the day they do get mailed and
chaos ensues.
Suddenly Lara Jean is hearing from each one of the
recipients of said letters. Even the guy
who’s currently dating her older sister! I feel as if a whole lot of drama is getting ready to go down!
I really liked the ebb and flow of how each character
reacted towards one another and how the words just kind of flowed, making this
a very easy and enjoyable read. Throughout
the book, I was quite shocked to learn of who REALLY had feelings for Lara Jean
and who was just responding to a letter they received in the mail. I have to say, I was rooting for one
character throughout most of the book and then, in the end, I found myself
rooting for someone completely different.
I will say that while completely well written, I was
expecting what occurred at the end of the book.
It just made sense with what had happened in previous chapters and I
felt that the characters were moving in just that direction. When you get to the end, you’ll see what I’m
talking about! Regardless, I gave this
book a 5 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.
Now onto the sequel!
Once again, I absolutely loved this book. There wasn’t a single piece of the story that
dragged and I was able to follow along with Lara Jean and what’s happened as a
result of the ending of the first book.
I will tell you that Lara Jean does end up with someone from
the previous book and this book is pretty much going through the trials,
struggles, and even joys they must endure to be together. I won’t tell you who though…where’s the fun
in that? J
But even as Lara Jean and her mystery man are beginning to
find even ground within their relationship, trouble is beginning again. This time it seems that a recipient to one of
her letters has decided to make his presence known. He has pretty strong feelings towards Lara
Jean and it seems as though hers aren’t as buried as she’d thought they
were.
Will there be trouble in paradise? Who will Lara Jean choose and whose heart
will she end up breaking…or will it be her own?
Oh and she’s also trying to get through school and deal with the very
near college deadline but, you know, no pressure…
All in all, I found this to be a wonderful ending to the
story. I’m sure there could be more…I’d
love to see more…but I am happy with the way things turned out and how Lara
Jean’s story ended. I also gave this
book a 5 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.

Han’s other works, leave a comment down below!
