Welcome to Thief of
Lies by Brenda Drake, the first in the Library Jumpers Series.
Let me start off by saying that, this was definitely the
right choice to start off a year of absolutely incredible books! You have action, adventure, fantasy and then
throw in a bit of romance. What more
could a girl ask for? Oh…and the fact
that the entire story revolves around libraries? Yeah that’s pretty awesome too!
So from the start, you meet Gia, a rather average high
schooler with a rather average life. She
goes to school, does her homework, helps out at home, and absolutely loves to
read. It’s no surprise then that she
feels completely at home in libraries and lives her life devoid of any type of
trouble or excitement. Well at least
until she and her friends enter a library, meet a leather clad hottie, and fall
through a book to another world none of them could have ever imagined
existed. Yeah…that happens.
From this point on, Gia’s life is full of danger and
adventure. She’s thrust into a life she
knows nothing about and only has a brief chance to learn about it before all
Hell breaks loose. Not only does she
find a world of witches, wizards and fey, she also finds out that she isn’t who
she thought she was…and knowledge of who she is…changes EVERYTHING.
Now armed with a power she never knew she had and standing
with a group of rather interesting magic wielding Sentinels, she is going to
have to believe in herself, figure out who she can and can’t trust, and try to
figure out if she may be the one to save or destroy the world.
I for one, found this book to be absolutely wonderful. I honestly can’t say enough great things
about it. The writing style completely
drew me in and made reading the beginning to Gia’s story incredibly easy. I fell in love with the characters and found
myself hanging on by the edge of my seat throughout the entire book! If this is what we have to look forward to
with this series, I for one will be reading each book over and over again! The world Brenda Drake has weaved throughout
this story is both intricate and beautiful and I cannot wait to dive into it
once again when the next book comes out.
All in all I gave this book a 5 out of 5 on GoodReads, and if you haven’t
picked it up I highly suggest you go out and do so VERY soon. You won’t regret this one.
Thank you guys so much for reading my review and look
forward to more great books and reviews in 2016!
See ya! J
