Throwback Book Thursday!

Welcome to Throwback Book Thursday!

This will be a brand new series I’m bringing to my blog where I discuss novels and series that we all might have fallen in love with in our years in middle or high school!  We may even go so far back as grade school, you never know!  J

Everyone has that one book or series that you always seem to gravitate back to as your comfort zone.  In this series, we’re going to try and discover them all.

So to start it all off, there was a great series in high school that I absolutely loved.  I could not pass up the opportunity to showcase this series as the first on this Throwback Book Thursday!  Quite a few of you know this series and it is:

*Drum roll please*

The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot!!

Where to start with this series?  Holy hot ghosts everywhere…this was one of those series that once you began the first book, you didn’t stop until you finished the very last one.  You have romance, you have action and adventure, you have horror, and you have those little moments in each book where you just have to fangirl a little.  I’ll admit…I did it a lot!  I mean come on, Jesse De Silva, need I say more?

So throughout the whole series, you follow Susannah Simon, Suze to anyone who didn’t want the forefront of her fury, and her ability to see and speak to ghosts.  Suze is, of course, a mediator.  A mediator is someone who can interact with ghosts as if they are human.  Her job is to find out why they are still hanging around, finish their unfinished business, and see that they pass through to the afterlife.

Simple enough right?  Oh so very, very wrong.  Did I mention, she’s a sixteen year old girl who has just been moved across country because her mother has just remarried a man with three sons AND she’s starting at a new school?  Yeah…lets add that into the story as well.

OH…and let’s not forget.  There’s a 150 year old male latino ghost who haunts her bedroom…and he’s not exactly nightmare material.

With all of that going into the equation, what more could a girl possibly want?  A normal life?  Yeah, not going to happen anytime soon.  Suze is soon swept away into murder mysteries, trying to fit in at school, and trying to figure out how to get rid of the ghost in her bedroom.

With the help of Father Dominic, her school’s principal and fellow Mediator, Suze sets out on a whirlwind of epic proportions.  From angry ghosts to hottie bad boys, this series has it all.

Also…did I mention Meg Cabot has decided to make a seventh book to the series?  Oh yeah…that’s totally happening!  While the rest of the series is decidedly YA, this seventh novel in the series, entitled Remembrance, will be set in a more adult genre.  Does it make me happy that my favorite series from childhood is following me as an adult novel?  Heck yeah!

Remembrance is scheduled to hit bookshelves on, February 14, 2016.  Date night with a certain hot latino?  Yeah…I think so!

If you haven’t had a chance to read The Mediator Series, I highly suggest going and picking up the books as soon as you can!  You won’t regret it, even for a second!  If you have read this series, please feel free to leave a comment below on exactly what you thought.  Are you excited to see a seventh novel in this series?

Also, if you have an idea for another series or book you’d like for me to spotlight on Throwback Book Thursdays, let me know in the comments below.

Thanks guys and as always, “Spread the joy of reading!  Lives can change with the turn of a page!”
